We administer a small number of funded support packages for people with disabilities. This means that we employ support workers who assist people with their day to day living needs and with finding entry points to their local community.

Support is given primarily to people with psychiatric disability, but we do support people who experience multiple disabilities.

Our aim with recovery support is to:

  • assist people to access meaningful learning opportunities
  • increase opportunities for people to participate in vocational opportunities
  • assist people to gain access to high quality medical care and nutrition
  • increase people’s access to safe, secure accommodation
  • increase people’s financial security
  • increase people’s participation with others
  • ultimately reduce a person’s dependence on A Place to Belong.

“It’s been an invaluable experience. Hearing the person's story and then having some pretty open discussion about how our lives can be different has given me hope”.
